Bernie Sanders was well known as someone who could talk to an average republican voter and sway them to his side. I remember watching videos of his interviews (in front of a live audience) on Fox News or CNN or whatever and at first, they'd be hostile to him. At the end, they'd give him a standing ovation. I think we have more in common with other working class people than they do with their republican leaders.
