I find that people often miss the distinction between "personal" property and

ah but you see when "maximizing profit" and "maximizing value" sound like the
same thing to those directing the corporation (as is the case anytime they have
greedy shareholders) then "maximizing profit" doesn't have to be very efficient
at all, as long as it's extracting the most "value" for the stakeholders (which
to greedy shareholders is the same thing as profit)
