I feel like education, by default, should not be hard. "you get out of it what you put into it" is something I always heard of school but when I got there, I found I was compelled to become what the state wanted me to be. they need competent workers, to work the farms and tend to their industries, so of course I should be able to do 3+3 then somewhere along the line it became... something else. "most people don't need trigonometry." that's also something I heard. I disagree that trigonometry is not necessary to be. I just... don't think it should be forced into a childs head with a sledgehammer and inspiring dread. I think math is beautiful, it teaches one to see but really, vision's not necessary. not for what they want you to be. take it from me, a most misbegotten and vile witch-to-be, that nothing's as simple as they'll tell you. I had good teachers, it's true, they taught me to work and to follow through, but nothing about me is better or worse off from their influence. Maybe I'm a bit smarter. Maybe I act a bit like them. Maybe they helped me through difficult times, or perhaps they showed me a splash of my future. but I am who I am because of the soul inside me. [sorry, ran out of characters]

Good people in the USA, you must join forces with those who are discontent In the terrible years of bolsonaro presidency, we had a quote: "ninguem solta a mão de ninguém" which means, in a free translation: "nobody releases nobody else's hands" more or less like: "nobody leaves anyone behind". It will pass.

A screenshot of a series of Fediverse posts explaining why I'm dead. There was a fun little game that a bunch of people played called the "fedi games" which was a play on words relating to "The Hunger Games", a book series in which a group of people compete to the death. In the Fedi Games, I'm assuming there was some kind of techno-witchery at play which analyzed all the contestants and the nature of their comments and posts and such. It then generated "events" which occurred each day as the contestants slowly fought one another leaving a single victor. There were 16 players I think, and I got 5th place (meaning I was the fifth-to-last person to die) Anyway, day 1 I was forced to kill someone else and it was super sad. Day 2 I created a communal nation state Day 3 I tried again with different people Night 3 I tripped into a hole and died. Ah, oh well, that's just what happens to your spiritual leaders. You need to learn to be able to survive without them, to take their works and crystallize it into something that can be utilized for revolutionary potential, instead of the sharp bits of insight that are hidden within the morass of nebulous abstractions meant to distract and avoid the attention of those who would do harm. ... uh, anyway, back to being dead. I'm not sulking I'm still working, I'll be back someday. Probably. Maybe. Unless I don't, so don't wait up.

factories don't have to be fully automated. you can have workers in a big
building on several different floors with an open atrium style so they can
pass parts back and forth through the middle. Even little drones could solve a
lot of problems, but tiny rail-carts along the walls tend to be nicer because
they're quieter and such. "take this flash drive to so-and-so" or "can you
bring me a hut of hot coa-coa"

Actual causes of burnout, an infographic. There are several examples of various causes of burnout. Here they are one by one, for a total of fifteen: 1. False Urgency: There are constant fire drills, with unrealistic and unexplained deadlines. 2. Unfair Treatment: There is unequal treatment or favoritism that leads to resentment. 3. Relentless Change: Changes in leadership, policies, and the ways of doing things are frequent. 4. Excessive Workload: Work keeps piling up, with no sign of relief or support incoming. 5. Limited Growth: Employees feel stuck in their roles with few opportunities to move up 6. Low pay: Compensation doesn't keep up with hard work and strong performance 7. No balance: Days off, time for family, and time to recharge are hard to come by 8. Micromanagement: employees feel like someone's always watching them. 9. Pressure to perform: Leaders set unreasonable expectations and overreact to mistakes 10. Toxicity: negativity and hostility, including bullying and gossip, go unchecked 11. Lack of support: leaders give little support, leaving employees isolated and stressed 12. Bad communication: communication from leadership is limited, leading to confusion 13. No recognition: leaders rarely say thank you, celebrate wins, or recognize hard work 14. Monotonous work: tasks are repetitive and unchallenging, with no signs of changing. 15. Fuzzy Expectations: the company lacks clarity around goals, roles, and responsibilities.

Person 1: We need a "Children's Video Game Network" with sesame street philosophy but for games. Not creaky educational games. In fact, I don't care if they are educational as much as I care if they are of a high artistic caliber, thoughtful, fun and both free and free of advertisements. I'm not saying such games don't exist, but there isn't really a plan to make them. Really all modern content forms are weak in this area. Ambitious to say with PBS gone? Yes. But also it can't just be TV. Person 2: what if we hired the people who used to work at PBS at video game studios creating specifically games for children

[next page] what if we just stopped going to work and didn't leave our houses what if we just made it happen what if we just made our heaven a better world is possible. a better world is within reach. for the children of tomorrow, all we need is the meek. where are they? do they sleep or know? If you don't stop traffic, your protest doesn't matter. If you don't ask every window if maybe your ideas could come in. If your parade doesn't knock on every door, asking them to join in. "hey, wanna play? we're playing catch in the road. say, do you know anyone in a different town? wanna knock on the door of all of your kin? it's a better world tomorrow, and everyone can come in." [next page] Did you know that nothing's that real if you're not afraid of it? what are they gonna do, shoot you? for what, not moving your shit to the side of the road? you like it where it's at, that's why you put it there, so fuck off if you'd rather it's unprotected. The sun and the rain and the cold and the maned all demand that our stuff is on hallowed ground - the kind which walls all surround. And yet they'd cast us out. How rude. Well, I'm not afraid of you. what are YOU gonna do? what if I didn't pay my rent and never got a job and just helped out wherever I could find a friendly nod. "oh hey ho've ya been okay what are we working on here?" don't see nothin? start somethin" anarchy is fun. bullets less so. [next page] most jobs are bullshit. If dollars suddenly didn't exist but people kept doing what they were doing, people would work like twice a week. Me? more or less, who can say, depends on how I did feel that day. I tend to burn out. what if I didn't go to work for a month? "oh no my stakeholder value" get over yourself. your games do hold value. act like life is on the line. (off in the corner) "... hello?"

perspective of the earth of the sun, when viewed without photons. at the top left of the page, there are the words "the sky is black" written in green, the color of plants and renewal. in the middle there is an orange line arcing from one edge to another, the color of sunlight and warmth. criss-crossing the sun's line there is a series of steps, moments that correspond to a larger structure. The line for this is majenta, a strange color not found in nature. on the bottom there are the words "amid the stars", written in red, the color of life and passion. this entire scene has been framed in cyan, the light of cold and un-friendliness. the portrait is arranged on a canvas like a rolled up carpet, or perhaps the perspective of the earth on the stars it's designed with few colors, perfect for an AMOLED screen. Or just OLED in general - they have this neat functionality where if you don't send color data to a particular pixel, it doesn't turn on at all. Leaving a blank surface that feels "matte" to the glossy perspective of the colored pixels. matte like the surface of a pool table, glossy like a mirror. because of this fact, an AMOLED surface can feel "textured" to the eyes in a way that the glass surface of the phone might never bely artwork such as this, when viewed on such a phone, is beautiful to me.
