 something I made a couple [time] ago
A visual of two hard disk drive designs, current design and proposed design. the current design features a rotating platter where memory is magnetically stored and a "read/write head" (which the author mistakenly labels as a "laser") the proposed design features many heads all arranged in a spiral outward such that many parts of the disk can be accessed at once. This hard drive design seems to be designed for parallel access to data.

the entire picture in one. 2. red text on a gray background. "everyone in the country has an ip address. Often more. Imagine if every address (physical) had a website. according to the top two google search results, there's somewhere between (in orange) seventy five million and one hundred sixty million registered physical addresses in the country." 1. a crudely drawn picture of America, with outsets for hawaii, alaska, and some unidentified part of the carribean. there is a text label that says "america" uncapitalized. 4. a picture of suburbia where all the houses in a line are connected, essentially acting as a "node rail" that could deliver packages or messages. run on open source infrastructure of course, something that everyone could see and appreciate. contribute too, if they'd like, but as long as the power rests solely in the hands of the people who use it, then nobody can take it from them. if that power is ever contested, then measures must be taken to overcome it. such is the nature of defence - if someone attacks you, you avoid their attacks and develop a strategy to defeat them. in doing so you both are learning, you how to avoid their attacks and them how to patch up their weaknesses. then, in an ideal game, you'd have your turn on offense, and you'd overcome your opponent bit by bit. a slightly different strategy, but one they must adapt to, and teach you how to be countered. in doing so you both learn, and that is valuable. anyway, the text on the image says "each address gets an HTML page. whoever resides at that address can edit it." the text is in the same color as the background, as if it was punched out of a piece of paper like a ballot. next text is black, as in shadows, like the decisionmaking process of the people who decided the 2004 election between AI. Gore and that other guy. "when they move, they can register with the post office (or company, if done through capitalism) next is the text "alternatievely, they can only ever be edited at libraries" in green & blu

 things I almost posted
picture shows the mastodon client with many unfinished and unsent comments to various interesting threads that people have posted on the tech.lgbt server. there's too many to enumerate, these are just the ones that the author managed to write down. sometimes they cut off mid-sentence, sometimes they completely bounce around (as in, returned to the original point and completed it). these messages were generally unsent because the author could not remember *why* they had written them, which is why they were hesitant to post them. It felt like their agency had been overwritten, and they don't recall consent having been given. alas, that a server's community leaders (admins) could delete posts that they don't agree with. Why not give us the responsibility of our discretion? If we lose all our friends, time and time again, then clearly we're just desperate for attention. Clearly we're not evil, (please say we're not evil), but even if we are we want what is best for them. ... what oh yeah okay so I noticed some of my posts had been deleted, and all I could think of was that someone deleted them. Probably either me, in a state I don't remember, or some other person or organization. Everything I do is skywriting. I pour my heart out on my website, and some people read it. It's pretty neat. I've never really had someone say they "get it" though - there were a few for specific things I posted, usually on /r/shruglifesyndicate, but then reddit kinda destroyed their own home. oh wel
