Issue 003: Implement Data Validation Pipeline

Current Behavior

  • No validation system exists for extracted poems
  • No quality assurance for poem extraction accuracy
  • No verification that all poems are captured

Intended Behavior

  • Automated validation that all poems are successfully extracted
  • Quality checks for poem formatting and completeness
  • Error reporting for any extraction issues
  • Statistics on extraction success rate

Suggested Implementation Steps

  1. Create poem count verification (compare source vs extracted)
  2. Implement formatting validation (check for complete poems)
  3. Add duplicate detection system
  4. Create quality metrics (average poem length, character distribution)
  5. Generate validation report with statistics and any issues found

  • an additional quality metric could be detecting how many poems use the exact

number of characters allowed on the fediverse instance in use - 1024 chars,
including the content-warning.

  • if possible, include the alt-text for pictures posted in the fediverse section

this is not present in the current system but another ticket may be created to
address this concern. They should be listed as a separate poem just after the
one that contained the picture, specifically as 1234-A or 1234-B for post
number 1234 with two pictures attached, as an example.
