At what level do you wish to apply your reasoning, and what level do you wish to trust others? I have no idea how the Linux kernel works. ┌─────────┐ ┌───────────┐ │ similar │ │ different │ ╘═════════╧═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┴───────────┘ -> file: fediverse/6167 ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════───────────── ┌──────────────────────┐ │ CW: AI-mentioned │ └──────────────────────┘ I can certainly see a future where programmers choose a level of abstraction they are comfortable with, same as today, but fill in the gaps, the lower parts, the parts they will not spend time, energy, and mental space understanding, with AI. I think that the role of the various people on a software team will begin to merge. Product designers, managers, front-end versus back-end, these feel like distinctions that will begin to fade from relevance. I think that's okay. I think it will make us feel more powerful, will elevate workers to a higher tier of organizational operation, and will increase the flexibility of computation. Why program your own software when you could use someone else's? This is the way of the past. Why use someone else's software when you could design your own? This is the way of the future. ┌─────────┐ ┌───────────┐ │ similar │ │ different │ ╘═════════╧═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┴───────────┘ -> file: fediverse/6168 ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════───────────── don't mind me, just weaponizing plurality leveraging, please say leveraging next time ┌─────────┐ ┌───────────┐ │ similar │ │ different │ ╘═════════╧═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┴───────────┘ -> file: messages/1033 ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════───────────── [Image: aura-of-imagination.jpeg] ┌─────────┐ ┌───────────┐ │ similar │ │ different │ ╘═════════╧═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════┴───────────┘ -> file: fediverse/6169 ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════───────────── ┌──────────────────────┐ │ CW: AI-mentioned │ └──────────────────────┘ AI programming be like: "hmmm, it seems that there is an error. Let me try disabling the error and seeing if that fixed it. Perfect! The program runs without crashing.
