I'd just talk to a therapist for a couple sessions. Like, yeah, they put that rule there because they want you to be safe. And in 2010 we didn't "get" it as much as we do now, so it wasn't seen as something you could just do. It wasn't really a demographic question to them, it was more medicalized. frankly I kinda preferred it that way, like... yeah. I'm trans, there's something wrong with me, please fix it by giving me the right hormones.
