If the powerful do not seek to relinquish it, then perhaps they do no deserve it. And yet a nation of Cincinnatuses would surely fall to weakness, as the strength that they covet is replaced by whoever they can get to fill the role. Not ideal. Instead, a human should revel in their strength. The will to power is the will to passion, and passion is intrinsically human. However, power corrupts, and all humans should seek to avoid corruption, or at least to keep it at bay. To do so, a person must consider their impulses and listen to the words of the unspoken for.
