A video can have visual components, and more than that it can have motion and sound. Text-based expression has fewer approach vectors for reaching common understanding, but like you said it is the most powerful. Hence why science papers are written, not filmed. Political speeches, grand narratives, autobiographies, textbooks... All of these things are written. But it's much easier to fix a car or learn to surf if you see someone doing it, rather than just read about it. At a minimum. They should also be able to host videos and share files easily, in a way that anyone who understands a desktop-and-file-folder style system can work with. This would require serious reform of our internet service provider infrastructure.
