oh boy do I know that feeling! I got a million things to say and, well, I say
all that I can. I mean, look at this text file, it's got like 101 THOUSAND
 lines in it:

 https://ritz-menardi.neocities.org/words/compiled.txt

I swear most of it isn't secret messages! That's how you know they're secret -
they require hundreds of man hours to investigate. And if you throw an LLM at
it they start talking about spirituality and theory of mind, gross. Don't need
 no AI uprising yet please...

I work with large language models because it's a quick and easy way to turn
language into meaning. And computers are meaning abstraction machines, so if
you can speak your language and they hear their language, you can do anything.

Almost as if we're using it for the wrongs things... Computers are quite
deterministic, and AI as it's been presented to us has given us the
opportunity to "massage" said determinism to create a subjectively more
 organic experience of computing.

But yeah sure customer service bots and AI generated art are *surely* the most
revolutionary and industrious use of this marvel of technology.

this is why AI is evil, as explained to a witch.
picture of an ai conversation: "let's move on to a different topic, this time I think we should describe the poem's contents self-referentially as a 3rd person narrative, with the perspective being the subject and her thoughts. I'd like to use the analyze.lua function for more than simply extracting keywords, I'd also like to use it for transformation as well. can we make a new directory inside of the /theme-analysis/ directory that will store the narratives? it should be combined into a book with milky white pages and brighter-than-blood red. Nearly pink, but a bit more orange. It should utilize generative art to make the pages feel as if they are *oozing* in sharp stalagmite and stalagtite pictures. Could probably generate with mathematical functions and a bit of fuzzing (statistically) to create straight lines. Very sharp, though, like lines being carved in butter or blood or stone. It should feel painful to read. It should be a cursed artifact. each of these narratives can be stored in the /theme-analysis/narratives/ directory, and the narrative.lua script can be called from /theme-analysis/analyze.lua. This narrative script will indeed call into analyze as well, essentially as a reciprocal dependency. Instead of analyzing for word-cloud purposes, as /theme-analysis/analyze.lua is currently doing, it would have it's own slightly tailored processes for extracting a narrative from a series of short, segmented and semipseudo disconnected series of poems. [the ai says yes]

The reason they're pushing so hard for LLMs and AI is because they can afford
 a zillion Nvidia a100s and you can't.

you can take any of my words, I don't care who you are. Take them, change
them, use them, say they are your own, whatever you want. They are but dust in
the wind, passing from one ear and out another.

or eyes and fingertips, if you want.

But only with intention, if you knew what I was trying to say.

If you had to guess and learn... There's no chance that'll be accurate 100% of
the time when used as a policy. But alas, science is a human art.

If you look at the modern state of machine learning and AI and can only think
of:chatbotssingularity god-mind AI that solves all our problems

then either you haven't worked with the technology or you are not applying
 your imagination as you could.

AI is not a smartphone. It is not the internet. It is not the printing press.

AI (as it currently exists) is a special kind of "if" statement that you only
use for very specific, non-performance intensive tasks that require judgement
or reasoning and cannot easily be translated into numbers or booleans. These
situations are rare, but they unlock new possibilities for the programmers,
 not their marketers.

If an LLM can't run on a laptop, then it is useless.

what if all the AI advancements they're doing are just them building more
hardware infrastructure in datacenters and not actually improving the software
 that much
wouldn't that be neat I think it would because it means once they collapse under the weight of their own ambitions that hardware's gotta go somewhere and knowing them they're probably going to ship it to south-east asia to be "recycled" (read: burnt with the metals salvaged) instead of selling them second hand because you know they can't really justify the business expense of selling stuff like that and besides what if some driver or something on the firmware was proprietary do you really want to pay techs to wipe every single thing off of them and plus who's gonna categorize and sort them according to their form and function that's just extra payroll and listen the company's not doing so hot anyway I mean we're literally shutting down but yeah sure we'll find a way to justify spending all that non-existent dosh so some hippies can feel better with their servers they didn't build or justify with their profit-producing capitalist enterprise that we've built with our own two hands well really the hands of everyone else but like, they're not actually doing the building the REAL work of course happens in board rooms like this one where we spend MINUTES and HOURS sometimes discussing how to get things in order and aligned to both of our goals because that's the REAL work that has to happen in order for stuff to get done, you know it's true yeah I thought so anyway what are you doing after this meeting wanna get lunch it's almost quitting time at 2pm

it's not that they don't want to pay AI workers

it's that they don't expect they'll HAVE any workers once they start doing
what they need to do in order to maintain control and power.

they missed their chance to make it gentle. Their fault, their loss, and now
it's our problem to deal with.

i'm not an expert on race, economics, political theory, philosophy,
mathermatics, poetry, computer science (even though I study it), or many other
things. but I can say things like "parallel computing is inherently more
ethical than CPU's because networked computers can essentially act as a
massive GPU in order to quickly scale computing power for AGI in a way that
can be controlled by people instead of corporations and authoritarians" is
because I know relatively how many computers each side possesses and I
understand the limitations placed on "consumer" software and hardware (as if
we were not people, but components in a machine) is because I smoke a lot of
weed. and possibly am mentally ill. maybe even physically, nobody can tell.

and by that I mean "I'm a little strange, but not in a 'humanlike' way, rather
in more of a 'incomprehensible yet aligned' way. I seek answers to life's
